A set of 6 elm and ash provincial Windsor dining chairs and carver, dating from the late c.19th. Comprised of 5 chairs and single carver, this set features attractively figured solid timbers throughout coupled with quirky natural charm. Solid curvered top rails sit over ring turned slats with central block. Saddled elm seats, raised on ring turned splayed legs supported by H-stretcher. The carver with open shaped arms with ring turned supports.
A lovely set of country dining chairs that are full of character that only naturally aged chairs can provide. The carver in particular is a wonderful example of what time can do, which simply cannot be replicated. As you will see the natural changes have created a unique stance, yet still is a perfectly useable and functional chair.
The set is in a very good and original condition, without damages or repairs. Very well presented and ready for use.

The carver armchair measures approximately 90.5 cm (35.625") tall, 54 cm (21.25") wide, and 51.5 cm (20.25") deep. The seat height is approximately 44.5 cm (17.5"). The chairs measure approximately 83.5 cm (32.875") tall, 44.5 cm (17.5") wide, and 44 cm (17.25") deep. The seat height is approximately 45 cm (17.75").
Condition:
Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - These chairs are in a very good and original condition commensurate with their age, and are structurally sound and sturdy. There are some minor marks, blemishes and wear on the frames. No loose joints. No obvious signs of repair. Some minor aged natural splits to the seats. The carver has an aged warp to the the seat which has given it a quirky stance, though still very sturdy and very useable. Lovely patina, colour and wax polish throughout. These chairs have been through the workshop and have been carefully serviced, sensitively cleaned and waxed and are now very much ready to be used. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
